McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Aircraft Accessory Services

Introduced in 1980, the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series stretched and refined the proven DC-9 design with more powerful engines, increased capacity, improved fuel efficiency, and updated systems. The MD-80's reliability and economics made it a backbone aircraft for major airlines through the 1980s and 1990s. While largely retired from U.S. passenger service, MD-80s continue operating with international carriers and in cargo roles where their proven reliability remains valuable.

Four Star Accessory Overhaul provides comprehensive MD-80 aircraft accessory services for operators maintaining these aircraft in continued service. Our capabilities span hydraulic systems, pneumatic components, power generation units, electromechanical accessories, fuel system components, with focus on supporting aging fleets as OEM parts availability becomes increasingly challenging.

Our FAA and EASA certifications enable seamless service for MD-80 aircraft regardless of registration, supporting commercial aviation operators with the obsolescence solutions and precision machining capabilities that out-of-production narrow-body aircraft require. Our experience with DC-9 family systems and ability to manufacture unavailable parts ensures continued MD-80 operations where OEM support has diminished.
